Tips for Eloping in Buffalo NY

for couples who care more about the marriage than the wedding

The seasons here are no joke. Winter is cold and can bury you in snow, summer can be humid and hot hot hot, spring is wet and rainy and fall is freakin spectacular with vibrant colors

There's so much arts and culture here - from parks to museums to amazing food and nightlife - whatever you two love doing together, you can find it in Buffalo

Weddings require one witness - and yes, that can be your photographer!

You'll also need an officiant, public official or religious figure to perform your ceremony.

Once your marriage license is issued you must have your ceremony between 24 hours and 60 days from that time.

Your ceremony can take place wherever you'd like (within reason). City Hall is popular and can offer you a small room, the front steps or in the lobby. Other popular options are backyards and public parks.

If you're opting for a City Hall ceremony you'll need to make an appointment. If you're using a City Hall official (not bringing your own officiant) you'll arrive the day of and they will serve each couple first come first served.
