Downtown Buffalo Elopement - Keith & Alexia

The perfect wedding doesn't ex.... wait, never mind. This couple more than nailed it. They get an A+++, all the gold stars, oh and a happily every after ✨

Alexia and Keith's day started as sweetly as you could possibly picture an elopement day starting - with them getting ready together in their downtown Buffalo loft apartment.
Their attire was laid out, fresh Paula's Donuts were on the counter, there was electricity in the air... even the cats were excited. Keith zipped Alexia into her stunning dress while the kitties climbed all over her - eager to be a part of the day. Alexia straightened Keith's tie and snuck a little kiss in.
Then one of her nails popped off... and the search ensued. Are elopement days perfect? If you count hiccups like a lost nail imperfect, then never. But if that kind of detail is charming, then always :)

After getting dressed, Alexia & Keith floated out of their apartment and down the elevator to the lobby. Waving to the building staff and they excitedly headed out to their elopement ceremony at Buffalo City Hall.

Walking up to the City Hall building downtown they were greeted by April, their officiant and the girly who was gonna help make this whole getting married dream a reality.

We picked a spot inside the stunning lobby of the art deco masterpiece that is Buffalo's City Hall. It was a quiet Friday afternoon and we saw no one else as April performed their quick ceremony. Maybe we were all just entranced by this beautiful show of love to notice...
After their I dos and signing of the paperwork, the tears were wiped away and the couple enjoyed a first dance in the hallways of the building. We had to take photo op advantage of this architecturally stunning building before it closed for the day!

Feeling high on love and life, we headed down the road for the Curtiss Hotel - all that excitement had them working up an appetite! But first, a little champagne celebratino in the parking garage across the street.

As they enjoyed the most delicious looking charcuterie from Chez Ami, soaking in all of those "holy crap we just got married" feels! they snuggled up at the rotating bar.
After their snack we decided to head to the Erie Basin Marina to enjoy the sunset (ok and a little more champagne) overlooking Lake Erie.
But first... insert another laughable "whoopsy" moment here. We got back to their car only to find - it had a boot on it! In all of their excitement to celebrate their vows, Keith had forgotten to pay to park.
They laughed and laughed as they called the parking attendant and started decorating their booted vehicle with "just married" emblems. Just for a little more comical effect (and great photos, I might add).
Thankfully the de-booting was a quick affair and we made it to the beach at the marina before the sun set. It was mostly quiet, being a September night and the lake felt so serene. We took a few more portraits and they took a stroll along the beach, finishing their bottle of champagne.

Once the dark night fell, they were ready for some cake! And dinner... (but cake first) and their favorite restaurant for all of their relationship's big moments so far - the Buffalo Chophouse downtown.
My time with them ended there (after they graciously shared a slice of the most delectable chocolate cake with me).
It was a whirlwind of a day... but in the best way. And in the way only an elopement day can be. Without the chaos of of a wedding party or family drama.
Just the two of them enjoying every moment together. Buzzing with excitement and love. And I was so honored to witness it and capture it all for them.
Cheers to Alexia & Keith!
